Students from Cheongju Foreign Language High School (CFLHS) majoring in German recently visited KGCCI (AHK Korea) to learn more about career paths related to their field of study! 🙌 During the visit, the students showed a keen interest in working conditions at KGCCI, opportunities for working in Germany, and participating in the Ausbildung program. They also had the chance to deepen their understanding of the Ausbildung system, which is believed to be a key factor in Germany's success in small- to mid-sized manufacturing companies. We believe that activities like this will continue to positively impact not only technical high school students in the Ausbildung program but also broaden the perspectives of other high school students and society at large about technical occupations. At KGCCI, we take our responsibility to promote such initiatives seriously. We're thrilled to have had the opportunity to host the CFLHS students and hope that their visit has inspired them to become more dedicated to learning German! 🇩🇪 Learn more about KGCCI's Ausbildung Program: https://lnkd.in/gm4mR7Wg ✨ #kgcci #ahkkorea #korea #germany #ausbildung #dualvocationaltraining #vocationaltraining #partnerforAusbildung #partnerforKoreanGermanBusiness #partnerforGermanyandKorea #partnerforSuccess

This is an outstanding course for students interested in Japan, international relations, or foreign policy. Students have readings, weekly homework, and live online meetings. Students each write a long research paper to conclude the course. Because only the meetings are live, students can schedule the workload around their other academics and activities. But they also need to consider the workload and if they are ready for the high level participation and writing expected in the course. Applications for the 2024 Reischauer Program close October 20, 2023. Because the course has limited capacity, students who are not selected should consider applying in a subsequent year. Students might also want to investigate some of the sister programs from Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE) that focus on Korea or China. Applications for some of these programs are also currently open. One student I know who did the program not only majored in East Asian Studies in college, but lives in Asia as a college graduate. The Reischauer Program was their first exposure to academic study of the region. #CollegeAdmissions
The Reischauer Scholars Program (RSP) is now accepting applications from high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the United States for its 2024 cohort. This is an online course that takes place from February to June 2024 and offers a creative, intensive, and innovative approach to teaching high school students about Japan and U.S–Japan relations. With unique opportunities to interact with top scholars, experts, and diplomats, the RSP introduces students to both American and Japanese perspectives on many historical and contemporary issues. The RSP is ideal for students who are not only eager to learn about Japan and U.S.-Japan relations, but who also wish to be part of a diverse community of learners from across the United States and gain insight into a different global perspective. Please share the attached flyer with your networks and interested students. The application deadline is on October 20, 2023. More information is available on the RSP website at www.reischauerscholars.org.
