Battery City Berlin: Perspectives for Korean Industry in Europe's rising Hub for Battery Technologies

Berlin and the German Capital Region are set to become Europe's leading battery hub. The region boasts with a grown ecosystem of companies directly involved in various parts of the battery production value chain: stationary and mobile storage systems, electrode production, machinery for cell production, cell assembly, battery management systems (BMS), testing and validation, power electronics and also recycling of batteries. Recently, international companies have chosen the Capital Region for expanding their battery business activities (Tesla, BASF, Microvast, Rock Tech Lithium) – and this for good reason: First-class research landscape in the energy sector, quality of existing industrial sites for locating prototype production or R&D units, availability of green power for decarbonized cell manufacturing processes, tailored support and funding for settlement projects, several industry networks as well as dedicated cluster management organizations for the best possible networking of Korean investors in Berlin. In addition, Berlin and the Capital Region are themselves a potentially significant market for battery technologies, both for mobile and stationary applications.

The event will give an insight into the booming battery markets in Germany and Berlin in particular.

It will provide incentives for Korean investors in Berlin and highlight comprehensive support offers on the way to Germany's battery capital.
